Fixing stuff around yourself…

Fixing things around you will come back and fix you in return.

I study and work on my desk, and as usual I started doing our course by setting my laptop and notebook on my desk. As I proceeded, there came this project of ‘fixing stuff around..’ and as I examined around, look what I saw.

Can you spot it?

Everything else belongs to a study table, except, let me zoom that in..

Dirty bowl and an empty mug

Apparently, it was no big deal for me. I would’ve cleaned my table after finishing my work. But, as the project demanded, I did it right then. I picked them up, washed them, and put on the kitchen counter, where they belonged. How was it any helpful? Let me tell you. Or more like, show you.

Less clutter-more structure

First of all, I made more space for my notebook, and for my thoughts to channel. Open area makes your visuals comfortable, and your mind more effective.
Secondly, I took responsibility for washing the dishes I used, instead of just putting them in the sink, which I definitely would’ve done after work because I’d be tired then.
Third, I saved my mother some effort in washing the bulk of dishes. However small, and this is such a good habit, they would wash their own dishes, no one would be burdened. And this is Sunnah too. So what other excuse do we require.

In the end, I would say that, doing minor activities everyday, and in your surroundings will get you in a habit of taking responsibility, completing tasks at hand then and there, and eventually you will be fixing things farther and bigger. Best of luck!
