We buy different toys for our children, from vehicles, animals to balls and blocks. Most of us do not realize the key role these toys play in the skills development of our children. Most toddlers have the same set of enjoyment and nothing new to expand their minds. Not that these don’t help but I want to spread awareness of the parents towards a category of toys called EDUCATIONAL TOYS.

Sometimes called “instructive toys”, these are miniatures of play, or model activities expected to develop problem solving skills, teach about conflict resolution and how cause and effect work. They are basically made for children with special needs, but teaches ever child about sharing, helps develop their fine and gross motor skills and nurtures their creativity and imagination.

Some of the common toys are also educational toys for example, a stacking toy helping with hand-eye coordination, problem-solving and visual development. Building blocks develop fine motor skills of the child’s hands, fingers, and wrists. But less often we buy them for their purpose and more because everyone is buying them.

But if we talk about some of the other great educational toys and their benefits;

The sorting set of toys allows your child to strengthen their hand-eye coordination, fine motor and problem-solving skills, as well develop their vocabulary knowledge (e.g. being able to identify and name shapes)

Practicing to tie shoe laces

Some kids have trouble remembering the order of steps. Others might have trouble with coordination. You can IDENTIFY the problems of your kids as well with these type of resources.

Visual routine flashcards

Wonderful resource that helps set the daily routine activities with discipline and the child is able to understand the daily routine and accepts any change in the daily routine as well. A mother mentioned that “My daughter loves this visual routine chart and looks forward to her routine every day.”
What’s better for a mother than to have a child with some discipline?

A pulley to teach kids mechanics

There are many online shops who are selling educational toys at a low price. I want to promote these kinds of beneficial resources among the parents through a social media page where the benefits of the toys, age categories, their working, and the online shops from where they can buy them and even some DIY videos for our creative mothers will be shared.

Incorporating play in your child’s day with these educational toys can be both fun and beneficial to their learning and growth. Thank you.
